Job Shadowing Photo

On March 13, about 200 CISD juniors and seniors had the incredible opportunity to explore the workforce through the 2025 Job Shadow Day. With many businesses and community partners opening their doors to students, this event provided invaluable hands-on experiences in various industries. A special thank you to the Coppell Chamber of Commerce for collaborating with us to make this day a success, and to CISD's own Megan Mackin for making this all happen. The event saw students placed in 45 job sites, many of which hosted students in multiple departments, giving them a well-rounded view of different professions. This event serves as a crucial stepping stone in helping our students gain exposure to real-world careers and better understand the skills needed to succeed in today’s workforce. We want to express our sincere gratitude to the following companies for their generous support and participation:

Quotes from the Business and Community Partner Job Shadowing Hosts

Karen Spicer, Metrocrest Services:

"The students were amazing, and the team didn't want them to leave. We would love to have them back at anytime."

Ken Whisler, PrimeLending:

"I just wanted to let you know that we had a terrific day with the four students you sent to PrimeLending today. They were all on time, were dressed appropriately, were attentive and respectful, and asked lots of very good questions."

Dr. Sodhi, Define Orthodontics:

"Everything was fantastic. Those kids have great future ahead of them. Very curious, helpful and courteous. Absolutely enjoyed having them and hopefully they learnt a thing or two and had fun too."

Nawal DeGroff, Kura Oncology:

"Everyone was so engaged, lots of questions. I loved it. Very Impressed with the students."

Stephanie Figueroa, Core Physical Medicine:

"Today went amazing! All the students were very engaged and it was great getting to talk and show them how the clinic runs. We split the group up in two groups and after the first hour and a half we switched. Two students were up front with our front desk Abbie and two students in the back with myself and the PTA/PT. After each group of students got to be in the back with patients and the front learning about the front desk with Abbie, we did sit down with them and have a Q&A. They asked a lot of really great questions! We talked about things they learned in the clinic as well as real life experiences and connections."

Tyler Magers, QTS Data Centers

"I wanted to also give my two cents and let you know that both of your students were wonderful. They were very engaged, asking pertinent questions while touring the facility and observing some of our maintenance operations. Our techs were thrilled to share some of their expertise in data center operations, power distribution, mechanical support systems, and IT/networking. One of your students expressed interest in doing more job shadowing with us, and I feel confident that we would love to have them, or their peers spent more time with us in Irving. Thanks again for the opportunity to share some of our day-to-day with your students."
