Bus Riding Info

Durham Transportation will not be distributing bus passes prior to the first day of school on Wednesday, Aug. 14  Bus passes will be distributed via the schools before Tuesday, Sept.  3. Therefore, families do not need to pick up a bus pass for their children to ride the bus when school starts on Aug. 14. Bus passes will be required beginning on Tuesday, Sept. 3.

Please note, the Durham Bus Tracking App will not have student bus route information and will not begin tracking the buses until the bus routes begin. This information will be available when school starts on Aug. 14.

CISD buses run on a three-tier bus system, which means we run the elementary bus routes first, then middle school and then high school. There may be some minor delays in morning pick-up times, especially during the first week of school and with road construction in our school district area.  We ask for your patience during this time.

We ask that you do the following to ensure a smooth bus transportation experience for your child:

  1. Ensure your child knows their bus route number, especially elementary students.

  2. Have your child at their assigned bus stop at least 5 minutes before the assigned pick-up time in the mornings.

  3. Download the Durham Bus Tracker App.  You can find instructions on how to download the App at www.durhamschoolservices.com/durham-bus-tracker/
