Coppell ISD is glad to welcome Karen Duke as the district’s new Executive Director of Human Resources. Duke brings more than 33 years of educational experience to Coppell ISD having served in many roles, including as Assistant Director of Operations and Certification that focused on the area of human resources training and consulting, director of human resources, administrator at a 5A high school, anatomy/physiology teacher, and head coach of basketball, cross-country and tennis. Duke's 17 years leading human resources teams have been with the Region 10 Education Service Center, Rockwall ISD and Eagle Mountain Saginaw ISD.
“I am eager and excited to serve CISD by supporting the core values and mission of the district when recruiting, hiring, and retaining staff,” Duke said. “I look forward to serving the students, staff and parents as the Executive Director of Human Resources.”
Duke earned her undergraduate degree at Texas A&M Commerce and her graduate degree at the University of North Texas.
She has one son, Devin, and a wonderful niece and nephew of whom she is very proud. She says the star of her family is Devin’s dog, Marley.
She will begin in CISD on Feb. 12 and is replacing Kelly Mires, who took another position in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD.
