CISD announces that Chris Trotter has been selected as the district’s new Chief Operations Officer. Trotter is a fifth-generation educator and has spent his 31-year career in public education building a reputation of advocacy for the school children in Texas, strategic growth management and conservative fiscal policies. He earned his undergraduate degree and math teacher certification at Texas A&M University and his Master’s Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. He began his career in Birdville ISD, where he taught math and coached. Subsequent teaching and administrative positions were at R.L. Turner High School in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, L.D. Bell High School in Hurst-Euless Bedford ISD, Denison High School in Denison ISD, Creekview High School in Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD, Smithson Valley High School in San Antonio ISD, and Chief Administrative Officer at Tomball ISD. He also served as Superintendent of Schools in Cleveland ISD.
“I am excited to have Chris Trotter join our team,” CISD Superintendent Dr. Brad Hunt said. “His extensive background in public education and experience with school district operations will serve the district well. Mr. Trotter brings a high level of expertise and will do great things for Coppell ISD.”
Trotter is married to Rachel Trotter, an administrator in Prosper ISD. The Trotters have two children, Kaylee and Ian. Kaylee is a teacher in Willis ISD, and Ian is in the banking industry. Trotter began in CISD on July 5, 2023. He is replacing Dr. Dennis Womack, who took another position in McKinney ISD.
