Legislative Agenda
The 89th Texas Legislature will convene January 14, 2025 and remain in regular session until June 2, 2025. As public education is one of the largest entities in the state and its funding is second only to health care, the decisions of our legislators affect every community. Coppell ISD will be active in keeping you, our tax payers, informed and will work with our elected officials on proposed legislation that could impact the Texas public education system, our district and students.
CISD Legislative Priorities
The Coppell ISD School Board approved the district’s Legislative Priorities for the 89th Legislative Session on June 10, 2024. The priorities include:
School Funding - Increased Basic Allotment and Inflation Index
Teacher/Staff Recruitment and Retention
Opposition to Vouchers/Education Savings Accounts
Safety and Security
Local Control
