Board Action and Consent Items Highlights
The Board approved calendars for the 2020-2021 and 2021-2022 school years;
Trustees approved the authorization to enter into Master Inter-local Agreement with Educational Service Center Region 2;
The Board approved a vendor for Lesley field concession stand and restrooms and for bleacher and press box replacement for Lesley Field;
Trustees approved adoption of an Election Order calling a School Board Trustee Election on May 2, 2020; and approved a resolution to adopt the Voting System Equipment for Dallas County;
The Board approved a resolution supporting National Public Schools Week;
Trustees cast its vote for Cassandra Philips as the Fifth Member of the Board of Directors of the Dallas Central Appraisal District; and
The Board approved the Budget Amendments for January 2020 and the Financial Report for December 2019.
District Highlights & Awards
Several recent CISD achievements were highlighted at the meeting, including:
CISD Hosts first-ever Spanish Spelling Bee;
CMS West Junior Thespians advance to International Competition;
Coppell Debate Team Climbs in National Rankings; and
Valley Ranch students share stuffed animals with DISD’s Walnut Hill Elementary.

Patricia Cheatham, Director of English as a Second Language (ESL) and Bilingual Programs (Languages Other than English, shared an update on ESL, Dual Language and LOTE programs.
