Behavior Services
The CISD Behavior Services Team includes a team of Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSP) and Behavior Specialists. Working collaboratively with parents and staff, we examine issues that may contribute to learner difficulties and then develop and provide interventions and supports specific to each learner and situation.
LSSP
The Licensed Specialists in School Psychology (LSSP) participate in a learner’s ARD Committee as part of the learner's Full and Individual Evaluation (FIE) to complete psychological evaluations and assessments in the areas of autism spectrum disorder, emotional disturbances, attention deficit conditions, and related services counseling assessment to determine the learner's need for that related service. Once a disabling condition and education need for services have both been established by the learner's ARD committee, we provide, as determined by the ARD process, related services, both on an indirect and direct basis. Indirect psychological services include observation, as well as consultation with parents and staff regarding learner behavior and progress in the school setting, including responses to various interventions. Direct psychological services include individual and group counseling, and social skills instruction
Specialists
The Behavior Specialists support the campus teams for all students. They provide strategies and interventions to assist in developing appropriate skills for optimal learning. In addition, for learners identified to receive services with an IEP they may be a part of the learner’s ARD Committee to complete functional behavioral assessments (FBA) to determine need for a behavior intervention plan (BIP) or targeted behavior goals.
