Coppell ISD Board Briefs are highlights of select items from the CISD Board of Trustees meetings.

ESSER Fund

Assistant Superintendent of Administrative Service Kristen Eichel shared an update on using ESSER funding for additional compensation.

Proposed Budget

Chief Financial Officer Diana Sircar gave an update on the 2021-2022 Proposed Budget, including the current proposed budget for the 2021-2022 General Fund, 2021-2022 Food Services Fund and the 2021-2022 Debt Services Fund. Also discussed were the proposed Tax Rates for 2021-2022, which are a Maintenance and Operations Tax Rate of $1.0472 per $100 of taxable assessed property value and an Interest and Sinking (Debt Service) Tax Rate of  $0.2448 per $100 of taxable assessed property value, which is a $.018 overall lower tax rate from 2020-2021.

Action items

  • The Board approved a Resolution setting the time, date, and location of the Public Meeting to discuss Budget and Proposed Tax Rate, which is Monday, August 23, 2021, at 5:30 p.m. at the Coppell ISD, Vonita White Administration Building Board Room located at 200 S. Denton Tap Rd in Coppell, TX 75019. 

  • Trustees approved a Resolution relating to a Payment in Lieu of Taxes (PILOT) agreement and a letter of support for the creation of a Foreign Trade Zone to Samsung Electronics located at 400 Dividend Drive, Suite 200, Coppell, Texas 75019.
