Middle School Course Levels
Course Levels
CISD acknowledges and addresses the diverse needs of all learners. Our district is inclusive of various educational needs and ensures all students have access to a meaningful and appropriate education. Please use the links below to view the various course levels.
Gifted & Talented Program (GT)
Gifted and Talented classes are offered in language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies. GT learners must take at least one GT class to continue as an active GT learner and may only sign up for GT courses if the learner has qualified to receive Gifted and Talented Intervention Services according to CISD selection criteria.
Students receiving GT services will be clustered together within Reading Language Arts, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies classrooms, and those classes may also have students who are not identified for GT services. In these clustered settings, qualifying students will continue receiving specialized support and advanced learning opportunities. Each classroom with clustered students receiving GT services will have an educator who has completed comprehensive GT training, ensuring that our students receive the high-quality instruction and support they need to thrive. Assessment/Testing
The Coppell ISD is committed to providing each learner high quality instruction through a rigorous curriculum. It is imperative to assess that which is written and taught. A comprehensive assessment system affords educators the opportunity to measure learner success and utilize the information to continually improve teaching and learning. Therefore, assessments are the foundation for designing educational opportunities that promote student achievement by allowing educators to meet the needs of all learners and measure growth toward learning outcomes. The use of any one assessment does not provide sufficient information to guide instruction. Both formative and summative assessments must be used in combination with all other available information about a learner to guide instruction.
