DLI

Overview

The Dual Language Immersion (DLI) program is the Bilingual Education model for Coppell ISD. DLI focuses on developing English proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing through academic instruction in both English and Spanish. The goal of DLI is for students to become Bilingual and Biliterate with sociocultural competency.  

CISD offers a One-Way DLI program in PreKindergarten for qualifying, native Spanish learners.

CISD offers a Two-Way DLI program in Kindergarten through 5th grade for qualifying, native Spanish learners. Learners who do not qualify for entry into DLI may apply for the lottery to enter in Kindergarten or First grade.

DLI Campuses

Elementary Dual Language Immersion (English/Spanish) Campuses

  • Starting 2025-2026 school year, the Dual Language Immersion program will be housed at Denton Creek Elementary for PK - 5th grades.

Middle School Campuses

  • The Advanced Spanish courses for students who participated in Dual Language Immersion in the elementary grades are available at CMS North. 


*If CMS North is not your middle school based on the attendance boundary, a transfer is required
