Dear CISD Community,
I hope you are enjoying these last days of summer with your family and friends. As part of our ongoing commitment to transparency and engagement throughout our budget planning process, I am sharing this update from tonight’s Board Meeting. As a reminder, the Board Briefs summary and presentations for each meeting are available at www.coppellisd.com/boardbriefs.
Tonight, CISD Trustees took no action on the CISD 2024-2025 Academic Calendar, which means that CISD’s Spring Break remains as is from March 17 to March 21, 2025. As a reminder, Dallas College has assured us that they have a plan to support their Dual Credit students regardless of the week their school district has for Spring Break and student learning will not be compromised due to our Spring Breaks no longer aligning. The district will evaluate the 2025-2026 calendar in the fall and will continue to communicate and engage our community in this process.
Also, during tonight’s meeting, Chris Gollner was formally introduced as the new principal of CMS North and Dr. Yanet Cardoza was introduced as the new principal of Denton Creek Elementary. I look forward to working with Mr. Gollner and Dr. Cardoza, who are great leaders for their respective campuses and will do amazing things in their new roles.

The next Budget Board Workshop is this Thursday, July 25 at 5:30 p.m. in the Large Group Instruction Room at CMS West. This is the last meeting that will be held in the LGI, as we will return to the Board Room at the Vonita White Building starting with our Board Workshop on Aug. 12.
