Both CHS and New Tech High @ Coppell have achieved exceptional recognition in academic excellence. New Tech High @ Coppell has been recognized with the prestigious Platinum Level distinction on the AP Honor Roll — the highest level available — a testament to its unwavering commitment to academic rigor and student success. This achievement highlights the school's dedication to offering Advanced Placement (AP) courses and providing students with the resources and support needed to excel in these challenging academic pursuits. This is the second year that New Tech has made the AP Honor Roll and the first time it has achieved the highest level of Platinum.
CHS has secured the Gold Level AP Honor Roll distinction. This recognition reflects the school's dedication to expanding access to Advanced Placement courses and ensuring that its students have the opportunity to engage in rigorous college-level coursework. This commitment to fostering a culture of taking AP-level courses begins at CHS9, which is 25 percent of a CHS student’s high school career.
“Having both of our high schools on the AP Honor Roll is a significant milestone for CISD that underscores the commitment of both of these schools to empower their students with the knowledge and skills needed to thrive in the classroom,” said CISD Superintendent Dr. Brad Hunt. “These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire CHS and New Tech school communities, from students to educators to administrators alike. Congratulations to both of these amazing schools.”
