Dear Coppell ISD Community,
I want to share two important updates from the December 9 Board Meeting with our community concerning changes to next year’s academic calendar and our demographer’s report, which is one step in the boundary realignment process.
Last night, CISD Trustees approved an adjustment to the previously adopted 2025-2026 school calendar. The changes are as follows:
Friday, April 3, 2026: Flex Professional Development Day/Student Holiday
Monday, April 6, 2026: Bad Weather Day
Friday, April 17, 2026, and Monday, April 20, 2026: Regular School Days
The reasons for the adjustment are as follows:
Allows for CISD to be closed and all students and staff to be off on Friday, April 3 due to lower-than-normal student and staff attendance on this holiday when CISD is open.
Aligns with neighboring school district calendars where many CISD employees live and children attend school.
Aligns with a holiday for many other companies and organizations, allowing CISD students, staff and families a day off at the same time as other family members.
Also at the meeting, Trustees reviewed the latest demographer’s report, which included:
Current and future enrollment trends, particularly at the elementary level, which reflect lower-than-expected numbers.
Insights into the district's overall enrollment patterns now and in the future.
This demographer information, which includes proposed elementary boundary plans, is a crucial part of the boundary realignment process. The 2025-2026 Boundary Approval Timeline is as follows:
December 9, 2024 — Board Meeting

January 13, 2025 — Board Meeting
Discussion and consideration of proposed boundaries for 2025-2026
January 15, 2025 — Board Workshop
Further discussion, refinement, and consideration of proposed boundaries for 2025-2026
February 3, 2025 — Board Workshop
Further discussion, refinement, and possible Board approval of proposed boundaries for 2025-2026
February 24, 2025 — Board Meeting
Board approval of 2025-2026 boundaries, if not approved on February 3, 2025
