On Oct. 28, a public meeting/hearing was held on Coppell ISD's state financial accountability rating, FIRST.
Board Action and Consent Items Highlights:
The Board approved the submission of a Class Size Waiver to the TEA for:
Canyon Ranch Elementary — Grade 3
Cottonwood Creek — Kindergarten
Town Center — Grade 3
Valley Ranch — Grade 2 and Grade 4
Trustees approved Aerowave Technologies and SpeakEZ to supply and install emergency communications equipment at Coppell ISD educational facilities to be funded out of the Cycle 1 dollars from the Texas SAFE Grant, with the bi-directional amplifiers (BDAs) will be provided by and installed by a communications equipment company called SpeakEZ at a cost not to exceed $500,000, and the repeaters and antennas will be provided and installed by Aerowave Technologies at a cost not to exceed $420,000;
The Board approved Armko Industries, Inc. for 2023 bond projects requiring roofing architectural services;
Trustees approved the Region 10 Education Service Center Multi-Region Purchasing Cooperative Interlocal Agreement for the Purchase of Child Nutrition Foods, Wares, and Supplies;
The Board approved Nitor for the Installation of Integrated Camera Surveillance and Card Access Solution at Denton Creek, Cottonwood Creek, Austin, Town Center, and Lakeside Elementary Campuses for a total cost not to exceed $1,500,000 with the funds coming from the voter-approved 2023 bond;
Trustees also approved the monthly budget amendments for October 2024 and the financial report for September 2024.
