Dr. Greg Axelson is the new principal of CHS9. Dr. Axelson has served as the principal of CMS North since 2017 and also has served as a district administrator. He has 16 years of experience in education, including 11 years as an administrator serving as an assistant principal and a principal. He also has nine years of experience as a teacher and administrator at ninth grade campuses in previous school districts.
“Dr. Axelson has shown a commitment to professional learning communities and relationships with teachers, families and students that I know will make him an incredible leader for CHS9,” CISD Superintendent Dr. Brad Hunt said.
Dr. Axelson will be introduced as the new CHS9 principal at the Monday, June 24 Board Meeting, which will take place in the LGI Room of CMS West at 6 p.m. He replaces Dr. Cody Koontz, who accepted a position as the principal of Marcus High School in Lewisville ISD.
