    ACT
    During the 2013-2014 school year, all learners in 11th grade will take the ACT + Writing test on March 17-18, 2014. On March 17th, the learners will take an interest survey with the actual ACT test being given on March 18th. There is no cost to the learner for the March 17-18 ACT exam, and the results may be used for college entrance.

    Should a learner wish to take an additional ACT exam, please register at the

    SAT

    SAT Recommendations

    Seventh grade:
    • Each day, go to College Board and complete "The Official SAT Question of the Day." This is a free service that takes less than five minutes. After answering, a full explanation of the correct answer is provided.
    Eighth grade:
    • Each day, go to College Board and complete "The Official SAT Question of the Day." This is a free service that takes less than five minutes. After answering, a full explanation of the correct answer is provided.
    Freshmen:
    • Take 2 full practice tests that will provide an itemized report of strengths and weaknesses.
    Sophomores:
    • Take 2 full practice tests that will provide an itemized report of strengths and weaknesses.
    • Take the PSAT in October as practice for the National Merit qualifying test. CHS will administer this test to all sophomores.
    Juniors:
    • Take the SAT Prep Course that includes 2 practice exams.
    • In October take the PSAT/NMSQT. The scores from this test can qualify a student for the National Merit Scholarships.
    • In January take the actual SAT test for the first time. 
    • If needed, re-take SAT during May/June.
    Seniors:
    • Last recommended date for seniors to take the SAT is October.

    PREP COURSES

    SAT Prepare and Succeed Preparation Courses
:  This SAT Prep course is being offered in partnership with Knowsys Test Prep and includes the following:
    • Students take two full-length SAT practice exams
    • Students receive a complete report of their strengths and weaknesses
    • Students receive 33 hours of direct instruction from SAT prep professionals
    Knowsys has been a partner with Coppell ISD for the last eight years.  They are an outside test preparation company that offers courses for PSAT and SAT prep afterschool and during the summer on CISD campuses for our learners.  Please contact Knowsys directly for any questions about their programs, dates, times, locations, fees, etc.
