This year New Tech High @ Coppell is partnered with the Special Olympics. Christina Mylar, Tiffany Reynolds and Jessica Blankenship’s first week senior project about partnering with the Special Olympics was voted on and adopted by NTH@C.
Tiffany Reynolds stated “We were really motivated to work with Coppell Special Olympics because of the direct impact and interaction we knew NTH@C could have with the athletes. The thing that most stuck out to us when we were interviewing Angela Campbell (our SO contact) was this; "we really need bodies as much as we need money". Now don't get me wrong, New Tech is great at raising money for good causes, but what we really want to see is students being passionate about a cause and experiencing what it is like to work with these amazing athletes that exceed society's expectations every day even after being told every day that 'they can't'. It's truly inspirational.”
Bellow is the learners’ presentation as well as information on getting involved with the Special Olympics.
